John Beccia is a Lynnfield dad and business leader running for Congress to bring a new kind of leadership to Washington – leadership rooted in working-class values, proven in the private sector, and driven by a commitment to make government work for people again.

He knows how to get things done because he’s done it: building businesses and creating jobs, all while protecting consumers. But he knows our economy is not working for everyone and that affordability is a daily concern. John is running for Congress to stand up to Trump as he dismantles our democratic institutions. He wants to ensure that his children and the next generation have the same chance to take advantage of the best that this country has to offer.

A Middle Class Beginning

John’s grandparents immigrated from Italy to America to start a family and create a better life. His parents, a school administrator and an office worker, taught him humility, community, and the importance of giving back. His father, a longtime selectman in Milford, helped strengthen the town by revitalizing Main Street, expanding nursing homes for an aging population, turning vacant land into businesses, and protecting local lakes and the environment. From an early age, John learned the value of civic engagement and how to work with others to fix things and get things done.

Like many middle-class families, John’s parents worked hard to make ends meet, and he worked his way through school delivering pizzas, bartending, and selling insurance to help pay tuition. John knows firsthand the struggles families face with the ever increasing cost of living, and how much harder it has become for today’s generation to secure the same opportunities.

Experience That Gets Things Done

After graduating from Providence College and putting himself through law school at night, John built a successful career at the intersection of finance and government. He worked with federal regulators to combat terrorist financing and consumer fraud, and later helped implement reforms to prevent another financial crisis.

John went on to lead in the emerging field of financial technology, advising innovative companies that provided access to the banking system for those who have been left behind, while implementing strong consumer protections. As an entrepreneur, he built coalitions, created jobs, and brought fresh thinking to industries often resistant to change.

Through it all, John earned a reputation as someone who listens, brings people together, tackles problems, and gets things done.

A Fresh Perspective

John is not a politician – he is running for Congress because he sees an economy and a government that’s out of touch and doesn’t serve all Americans. While Trump destroys the very fabric of our nation, Democrats in Congress are not offering solutions on the issues that matter most: building an economy that works for working people and combating the rise in income inequality. On the North Shore, costs are rising, affording a home is tougher than ever, wages aren’t keeping up, people are not starting businesses and opportunities that once built strong communities are harder to reach. And while our economy changes quickly, Democrats in Congress are at a standstill. We need leaders who bring a fresh perspective and act fast to create opportunities and tackle today’s problems.

John is tired of politicians making unkept promises and offering the same old solutions that don’t work anymore. He is running for Congress to do what he did in business: create jobs, protect consumers, and make our economy work for working people.  He will strive to restore our sense of community, returning to American values rooted in our shared hopes and dreams for our families and our future.

Rooted in North Shore Values

John, his wife Renée, and two children live in Lynnfield. His kids attend the local public schools and John is active in the community, having coached youth sports and by participating in civic activities and events. He has seen how Trump’s actions have driven up costs and strained schools, and how underfunded infrastructure impacts our daily life. He’s determined to make sure Washington finally delivers for communities like ours.
